The thing again is that most people are casual players and playing NS2 is like being thrown into the deep end of the pool. It's probably the best competitive version of the game its ever been. It's great that they are willing to make massive changes and introduce new, game-changing features. I love how the developers are looking at every corner of the game to see what can be done better. I think NS2 is in its best design it has ever been in. I'm not sure what to think about the change, but I don't understand the logic behind it.
And since most casual players do not play fade, the change will likely not benefit casual players at all. It's going to make the really good fades even better in pub games and have no noticeable effect on really accurate marine players. The change makes fades harder to hit for most people, but the very best players probably won't miss anyways. I'm not saying I know what would make them want to play fade, but reducing hitboxes doesn't really change that. New players will sometimes go gorge, but they will more often than not play a mediocre skulk 90% of the game then go onos and then die fairly fast after that. Yes they were squishy, but the hitbox change does not then make new players want to play the fade more. I also don't get the logic with the fade hitbox change.
It's pretty annoying when you are trying to kill some guy killing your upgrades or biting your buildings. I still get the bug where if you log out of the commander, your first attack (shoot, bite) doesn't work. I'm still not sure about the roles of the HMG and Fade Stab, but they don't make the game worse, so it's fine. The game's been through a lot, but I think the design is in a good place. Still can't believe the game gets updated regularly by a diehard group of people.
